In compliance with GaPac Credit Union policy, CEO, Katie Zowada has issued notice of possible credit union office closure--road safety is of concern--on Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Automated Text Message Scam (7/14/11)
Members and Non-Members have received a text message falsely alerting consumers that their CARD has been deactivated. They are instructed to call a fictitious number to reactivate the card and then instructed to enter their card and PIN number information.
This is a scam! GaPac would never contact members and request card or PIN numbers. DO NOT CALL THE FICTITIOUS NUMBER PROVIDED AND DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR CARD INFORMATION.
Phishing Scam (6/23/11)
Members have reported receiving questionable calls. The caller indicates there is a problem with their card. They are instructed to call a fictitious number to reactivate the card and then instructed to enter their card and PIN number information.

Fraud Monitored at Michaels Stores (5/13/11)
You may be aware of alleged fraudulent activity involving Michaels Stores. GaPac has not received any reports affecting our area and we are committed to communicate immediately if any further information is received. As always, it is good practice to review your statements regularly as a safeguard to unauthorized activity. Automated Phone Message Attack (12/2010)
Pre-recorded phone messages are being delivered to random consumers with warning that their debit cards have been closed. When the consumers call the telephone number provided by the fraudsters, they hear a recording that requests a 16-digit card number and PIN. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THESE NUMBERS! This matter is under investigation. Once again, we remind you NEVER provide your card number and/or PIN to anyone calling you. If you receive a call like this, please contact your credit union at (360) 671-5960 immediately.
